30th Celebration chase cards: three secret Mew are worth more than the rest of the set

Pokémon 30th Celebration chase cards: the three RGB Rare Mew, Mew ex and Pikachu ex

Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration came out on 16 September 2026, the first expansion Pokémon has released on the same day worldwide, and every card in it is foil. Our release post covered the products and the preorder prices. Since then the market has found something nobody priced at release: three Mew cards that now account for almost all of the set's value. Below, those three, the ten cards that carry the rest, and what sealed product costs now.

Three Mew worth more than the rest of the set

TCGplayer lists three Mew cards from 30th Celebration as RGB Rares, numbered R/RGB, G/RGB and B/RGB, outside the set's 128-card numbering. All three are illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, the artist behind the set's Futuristic Rares. Each one sells for more than the other 158 cards in the set put together, and the three of them are more than nine tenths of the whole set's market value:

In play, each is the same card as the regular Mew #65, which sells for $0.41. Pokémon's announcements for the set do not mention them, and no pull rate has been published, so there is no way to say how many packs it takes to find one. Buy one as a single if you want it; do not open packs expecting one.

The ten that carry the rest

Leave the three Mew aside and 30th Celebration looks like most modern sets. About three quarters of the remaining value sits in these ten cards:

# Card Rarity Artist Price
1 Mew ex #152 Special Illustration Rare Kuroimori $70.64
2 Gengar ex #154 Special Illustration Rare CHORISO $62.34
3 Pikachu ex #150 Special Illustration Rare kantaro $54.00
4 Mew ex #158 Futuristic Rare YOSHIROTTEN $45.86
5 Pikachu ex #149 Special Illustration Rare kantaro $39.82
6 Mewtwo ex #151 Special Illustration Rare Yano Keiji $41.17
7 Jirachi ex #155 Special Illustration Rare AKIRA EGAWA $38.32
8 Sylveon ex #153 Special Illustration Rare You Iribi $39.29
9 Mewtwo ex #157 Futuristic Rare YOSHIROTTEN $34.36
10 Greninja ex #148 Special Illustration Rare GIDORA $17.81

The set's ten Special Illustration Rares are about two thirds of that remaining value on their own, and three in four of the other cards sell for under a dollar.

Mew ex, three ways

Mew ex is printed three times in 30th Celebration, and all three are the same card in play. The Special Illustration Rare is the most valuable card in the set after the RGB Mew, and the three together are about a fifth of the value outside them.

Mewtwo ex follows the same pattern: the Special Illustration Rare by Yano Keiji is $41.17, the Futuristic Rare is $34.36, and the Double Rare is $0.73, all three the same card in play.

Two Pikachu ex, not one

There are two Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rares, both illustrated by kantaro, and they are easy to mistake for one card in two arts. They are not: the game text differs, so they are two different cards. Pikachu ex #150 is $54.00 and Pikachu ex #149 is $39.82.

Thirty Pikachu, one in every pack

Every booster pack has one of thirty different Pikachu cards, Pokémon says. They are numbered 23 to 52, each is illustrated by a different artist, and each has its own attacks. The most valuable of them is Pikachu #40 by Shinji Kanda at $3.60; the least is Pikachu #25 at $0.53. They are the easiest part of the set to collect in full, and the most fun.

Sealed: an Elite Trainer Box now costs more than any one card you are likely to pull

The Elite Trainer Box has 9 booster packs and is $117.82, more than the set's most valuable card after the RGB Mew, Mew ex #152 at $70.64. The Booster Bundle, out since 2 October, has 6 packs for $69.53, about the same per pack. The Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box has 11 packs and costs well over twice the regular one: $277.19.

The most valuable reprint

Alongside the main set is the 30th Celebration Classic Collection, 30 cards reprinted from earlier sets. Its top card is worth more than anything in the main set but the RGB Mew:

Of the products Pokémon has announced, the one with a Classic Collection pack is the Ultra-Premium Collection, out on 6 November; its pack holds three Classic Collection cards.
