Reality Fracture comes out on 2 October 2026: 461 cards, and alongside it the Multiverse Reforged Commander deck. Until then every price here is a preorder price, and we have logged those every night, which says more about what to do than a list of the dearest cards does.
The short answer
- Preorder now or wait? So far, waiting has paid. The two highest early preorder prices in the set, Chandra, Chill of Compliance and Bloodline Recollector, have each lost about three quarters of their price, and by 24 September 2026 falls outnumbered rises 30 to 13.
- The card to watch: The Theorist, Jace Beleren. It has risen since we first logged it, and it is already the new card that Commander players put in the most decks.
- Best value for players: the five dual lands reprinted from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. They are the set's most-played cards by a distance, and they cost a few dollars each.
Preorder prices so far
We record every printing's market price each night. For most of Reality Fracture that record is only a few weeks old, because a card has no price until it is revealed and listed. Between each printing's first price and 24 September 2026, 30 printings fell by more than 5%, 13 rose by more than 5%, and the other 77 barely moved.
The biggest falls are the earliest high prices. Chandra, Chill of Compliance was the dearest printing we logged in August, at $49.99; Bloodline Recollector was listed at $56.96 in early September. Both have since lost about three quarters of that. Here are the biggest moves among printings that started at $5 or more:
| Card | First logged | Then | 24 Sep | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chandra, Chill of Compliance #212 | 23 Aug | $49.99 | $12.79 | −74% |
| Bloodline Recollector // Ancestral Craving #49 | 4 Sep | $56.96 | $15.00 | −74% |
| Roiling Canopy #187 | 19 Sep | $9.95 | $7.34 | −26% |
| Hexhaven Invigorator #106 | 15 Sep | $27.98 | $37.10 | +33% |
| The Theorist, Jace Beleren #43 | 17 Sep | $19.98 | $25.43 | +27% |
| Kwia Vigorbloom #140 | 17 Sep | $14.98 | $18.61 | +24% |
These are preorder markets, often a few dozen listings or fewer, so a single seller can move a price. Read the table as what has happened, not as a forecast.
Why the top cards cost what they do
Every one of the ten dearest printings is a new card, printed nowhere else, and none of them has been played at a table yet. EDHREC ranks each card by how many Commander decks list it, where 1 is the most-played card in the format. None of the ten ranks inside the top ten thousand. Their prices are guesses about cards nobody has played.
The cards players already rely on sit at the other end of the price list. The set's five most-played cards are reprints, and every one of them ranks among the three hundred most-played cards in Commander.
The cheapest way to own the chase cards
Several of the top cards come in more than one printing with the same rules text, and you pay for the version, not the card. The borderless printings cost more:
- Craterclaw Colossus, black border #78 — $9.11
- Craterclaw Colossus, borderless #327 — $11.95
- Ajani Resolute, black border #195 — $8.42
- Ajani Resolute, borderless #291 — $8.16
Kwia Vigorbloom has four printings. The two with a price so far share the same black-bordered frame but not the artwork — one by Ryan Pancoast, one by Eglė Mosakaitė — and the second is the dearer one:
- Art by Ryan Pancoast #140 — $7.12
- Art by Eglė Mosakaitė #352 — $8.46
Most of the chase cards also have printings with no market price yet. Emrakul, the Exigent Doom, for one, has four more printings nobody has priced, three of them with different artwork. If you want a particular version, check its card page before release.
For players
If you are buying to play, the reprints are where the value is:
- Deserted Beach #176 — $1.97
- Haunted Ridge #180 — $1.56
- Overgrown Farmland #185 — $0.83
- Rockfall Vale #186 — $0.78
- Shipwreck Marsh #189 — $1.49
Those five dual lands were first printed in Innistrad: Midnight Hunt in 2021. Two more proven Commander cards come back as well: Chandra, Torch of Defiance, first printed in Kaladesh in 2016, at $2.13 for the regular printing (borderless: $3.32), and Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, first printed in Dominaria in 2018, at $0.13.
Among the new cards, the two Commander players have taken to first are The Theorist, Jace Beleren at $41.28 and Liliana the Faultless at $4.22.
The Commander deck: Multiverse Reforged
The Multiverse Reforged deck is 100 cards. Its dearest card on 24 September 2026 is Flawless Maneuver at $7.28, already one of the two hundred most-played cards in Commander. It also carries the three most-played cards in the format: Sol Ring, Command Tower and Arcane Signet. Most of the deck has no market price yet, so we are not putting a total on it until it is out.
